Maryland Home Performance with Energy Star program, sponsored by the Maryland Energy Administration, and part of the emPOWER Maryland initiative which seeks to reduce energy use by 15% per person by 2015. In 2010, the company also has received approval as a full service participating contractor for the Pepco Home Performance with Energy Star program.

Tripolymer reduces energy loss, improves sound attenuation and, most importantly, increases the fire safety of many types of construction. It also meets the new environmental standards since it does notuse or emit HCFC or hydrocarbons.
Founder and President Jim McKenna, a resident of North Potomac, is an accredited contractor with the Maryland Home Performance with Energy Star program and a frequent speaker on home energy topics. Jim has participated in several hundred residential energy projects reducing energy consumption up to 35 percent.
Jim is a member of Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley’s Workforce Initiative Board as an energy auditing consultant. He is a certified Home Energy Rating System (HERS) rater, which is a part of the nationwide Residential Energy Services Network. Jim also is certified by the Building Performance Institute as a building analyst.
